Two
Cultures, One Spirit: the Japan-Wisconsin Art Exchange

Artworks by Hiroyasu Ishii (left) and Peggy Flora Zalucha
(right).
Peggy's painting depicts reflections on the outside of the
museum.

A masterpiece of playfulness created by Yuji Kobayashi.
Astonishing large scale silver point artworks by Akinori Miura.

Whimsical paintings by Yuriko Yumira.

Three paintings by internationally renowned watercolorist, Lee
Weiss.

Abstracted landscape paintings by Shuichi Yamada.

The large scale sumi ink painting in the background is created
by magnificently expressive Machiko Kitayama.
The assemblage artworks (left) were created by Gary Gresl and
the painting (right) was created by Kazuyuki Terada.

Kinukoromo, a contemporary version of kimono, created by
the delightful and kind Fumiko Nozaki.

Meticulous and masterfully hand-stitched quilts by my artist
host,
Hisako Harasawa. The fabrics for the quilt on the right were
dyed by my 2002 artist host and marbling artist, Minoru Ishihara.

Three mandala watercolor paintings by me, Tamlyn Akins.
The one on the left, "Melon Mandala," sold before
leaving for Japan
and the owners are eagerly awaiting its return to them.

Professional
Japanese readings of poetry and pros were performed, fortuitously
right in front of my paintings. The performance artist is
wearing the garment created by Fumiko Nozaki. I felt very
honored.

Artworks by Manabu Takabishi, Bonnie DeArteaga and
Cousi Ohsono (left to right).

Paintings on metal by Kathy Moss-Reeves.
