Happy greetings
and welcome.

A few nights
before my guests arrived, I received a fortunate e-mail from
Yumi Nakayama, a graduate student at the School of Veterinary
Medicine of the University of Wisconsin. It just so happenned
that her mother is a long time neighbor and friend to Hisako
Harasawa, the master quilter who was to be my guest. Yumi's
mother had instructed her to "take care of Ms. Harasawa"
while she was in the USA. I happily invited Yumi to join us
for our first dinner together on Sunday night. I served beef
stew with red wine and Yumi brought a delicious home made
Japanese three layer mousse. From left to right: Yumi Nakayama,
interpreter; Hisako Harasawa, master quilter; Toshiko Kawasaki,
assistant; and me. |

It was difficult but my husband, Chuck, managed to get this
