Greenhouse Sunrise combines my love of geometry with one of my favorite subjects - orchids. These unopened orchid buds called to mind birth, beginning - the poigniant moment when potentially anything is possible and everything is new. For this reason I chose to create the impression of dawn's light in this painting. It has been matted in white and framed in silver metal, and was exhibited at the Modern Museum of Art in Saitama, near Tokyo, in October 2002.
