Opulent Orchids #3
"Opulent Orchids 3" is the third painting in a series of closeup studies of white orchids. Akins is often told that these paintings are somewhat "O'Keefe like". The piece is matted in off-white and framed in metal, and was recently on exhibit at the Porter Butts Gallery in the University of Wisconsin's Memorial Union. It was sold shortly afterward.
