Haleakala Crater

During my visit to the island of Maui I traveled on horseback to the center of Haleakala Crater. The crater was created by erosion rather than a volcano and it's unique environment has created a beautiful high desert. The experience of looking down on the clouds, from several thousand feet high, as they rolled into the crater is one I will never forget. This piece is a recreation of that moment. It is matted in white and framed in a frosted copper finish metal frame.
