Occassionally I like to just sketch whatever is close at hand. On this particular day it was apples and bananas that were available. Reds and yellows can be challenging. Many other colors need to be introduced to keep them from appearing flat. I also enjoy the rendering of negative spaces which in this composition, Fruit Still Life, creates fabrics which contrast with the fruit and act as a foil. It has been matted in ivory and framed in a decorative brushed pewter metal frame.
