Citrus Grove combines my love of origami and colored pencil. Once the origami core piece was completed, slices of lemon, lime, and orange were rendered to the border area as if emerging magically, in order to fulfill what the work seemed to call for with the patchwork of citrus colored papers, so reminiscent of California orchards. The media are applied to white museum board, matted in white and framed in canvas-depth gold metal (shadowbox style) to enhance the three-dimensional quality of this piece.
