Following a commission by an interior designer for a quilt painting to add to her kitchen display in the Kohler Company's Wisconsin showroom, I continued to paint a large series of trompe l'oeil (fool-the-eye) quilts. Since I had done hand stitched quilting in the past, the transition to painting one was a pleasant leap. Barrister's Grounds is a large painting adding to the illusion that it's an actual quilt.
