Beach Debris II is the second in a series of paintings which explores the life and death cycle of nature. The sandy texture is both challenging and fun to create. I spattered the paper with my brush, an old toothbrush, and a spritzer bottle using various mixtures of pigment. The areas I wished to avoid with the spatter is worked around carefully or is covered with a roughly cut piece of paper or board which acts as a stencil. Only the white of the paper is seen. No white pigment was used.
